Summer matters. No doubt about it.

Seven weeks to slow down. Build real friendships. Figure things out when nobody's keeping track of likes or engagement.

Here are five things I'm thinking about summer right now:

1. It's actually cool to be nice to each other At K&E, the kids everyone looks up to aren't always the loudest or the best athletes. They're the ones who look out for everyone around them. The Shield of Honor (our only award mind you) goes to kids who rock like this every day. That's what works.

2. Older kids take care of camp Every Hut 6 boy gets a freshman little brother. Every Juniper girl gets a freshman little sister. Activities together, check in at meals, bring back treats from trips. By the end of summer, these relationships are real. Tough to find this anywhere else.

3. Last week for the K&E hoodie Every family that registers by November 1st gets one. Soft, well-made, lasts forever. This is my current favorite because it's running out of time. Today!!! Register here and it's yours.

4. Leveled up arts + high ropes for next year

New equipment. Better programming. More ways for kids to challenge themselves and create things they're proud of. We're always improving, and 2026 is going to crush.

5. Screen-free summers The kind you remember. Running. Playing. Simple. That’s it.
