Color War is on

Hi!

Thursday night was Color War breakout. Fireworks at the EBF, the whole camp on its feet, crazy energy, and the reveal every kid waits all summer for. Go big or go home.

That's the vibe heading into this weekend. And really, that's camp.

Big moments and small moments, all summer long. Most of what a kid carries home is the quiet stuff, hundreds of little things they barely notice at the time. But 6.5 weeks also gives you the huge ones.

Carnival. Big Weekend. Hollowpalooza. Mt. Washington.

And finally Color War.

Kids remember summer for all kinds of reasons, and you can never predict what'll stick. For one kid it's the fireworks on July 4th. For another it's a card game at rest hour. Which is why we pack the summer as full as we can, and knows that many somethings will land.

A long summer gives you room for all of it. Big and small.

One quick note before the weekend takes over. Early bird registration for Summer 2027 ends tomorrow, Saturday (8/1).

Register by the end of the day, and you lock in this year's rate for next summer, the best number we'll have all year.

Pay in full for $800 off a half summer or $1,200 off a full summer. Or put a deposit down and spread the rest across ten monthly payments.

It's all fully refundable through January 1, so moving now costs you two minutes and nothing else.

Will report back on Color War soon. It’s going to be awesome.

Hi! Last week, I was giving a tour. It was rest hour, right after lunch, kids just hanging around the cabins. Asked one of our campers if he'd explain the daily schedule. "Sure!" No hesitation. Kids here love showing off camp. They're proud of it. This guy, Logan, then proceeded to lead the next 20 minutes of the tour. So off he went. Walked the visiting boy around and answered every question the parents threw at him, honestly better than I could have. Amazing to watch. Then the activities...

Summer Matters Inspiring confident, kind kids & forever friendships It’s Day 34 of 46 at 7:35 AM. Rise and shine.” Breakfast isn’t ready yet, but there are already kids outside of Oak Lodge playing carpetball. Nothing’s scheduled this early. They just wanted to be out there, so they are, while the rest of camp is still waking up. I have a very boring morning routine. Wake up, dust...
